Project overview
The main bridge is a (110+110) m single-tower double-cable-plane prestressed-concrete cable-stayed bridge with a steel-concrete composite pylon — structurally complex and hard to design. BIM was used for optimized design, with the pylon steel segments parametrically modeled for the owner and contractor to understand easily.
Implementation experience
Established a collaborative project-management and data-review process, achieving traceable design issues, visualized results, controllable changes and deliverables passed downstream to construction and O&M.
Leveraging CATIA's parametric power, skeleton-line definitions enabled fast collaboration and change; the enterprise bridge parametric-template library grew by 26 for reuse in later projects.
